So I cannot believe that in 5 days, I'll be moving out of my house and into residence at UBC! It's just sort of sinking in for me that I won't be going back to high school next week....it kind of scares me a lot, to be honest. I mean, I'm excited to meet new people, have fun, live in rez and all that, but high school was just such an 'habit' that it feels weird to break that habit!
Plus, I went to a private school, so let's just say that figuring out outfits is pretty hard for me now since I could just put on a uniform everyday in high school and didn't have to think about it.
At UBC, I'm living in Place Vanier, 4th floor! I got lucky and got one of the newer buildings in Place Vanier (yet, not lucky enough to get the brand new residences in totem but that's okay, i'd rather not walk 30 minutes to get to my classes, so i'm happy about that!) Since I am an arts student, although I am taking my pre-requisites for commerce, most of my classes are close to Place Vanier over Totem Park, so although I was disappointed at first, I realized it's better than walking 30 minutes through the rain. I'll be living in a single room, in a co-ed house with co-ed floors. Can you say, party time?! :)
Although I'll be only 30 minutes away from my house, it's still kind of scary. But what can I say, it's time to grow up, and I feel like this is a good first step!
Since I am transferring into Commerce for 2nd year, I'm trying to complete my pre-requisites to transfer. So I have Econ 101: Microeconomics, Econ 102: Macroeconomics, Math 184: Differential Calculus with Social Sciences and Commerce Applications, and ASTU 150, my english course! Besides those required core courses, I am also taking my random electives: COMM 100, Italian Studies 110 (don't even ask me what was going on through my mind when I selected that one...), Psych 208 (since claiming credit for AP Psychology, Psych 100 is counted and I get to study higher level psychology, YAY!), some Philosophy, and some Anthropology. Whoo, am I excited! (okay, that had a bit of sarcasm to it...)
Oh, and did I tell you that I had an 'epiphany' and now I want to go and study Pastry Art at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris after graduating UBC? Yeah, I'm crazy, let's just establish that from now! I've always loved baking, and while I've sort of stuck to cupcakes, after watching Top Chef: Just Desserts, I got really interested in the art of pastries. So..who knows? my dreams change quickly, so don't expect it to happen!
However, something that has always been a dream of mine is to open a Cupcake Bakery when I'm older, after I get married, etc. My addiction show, Cupcake Wars, sort of led me to this other dream. I love to bake, especially cupcakes, and I will create anything your heart desires! From Smores Cupcakes, to classic Chocolate or Vanilla Cupcakes, to a Tiramisu Cupcake. Hopefully, I can make my dream come true, but who knows!
While I do plan on studying business/commerce in university, I do want to specialize in Human Resources so, who knows what my future has in store!
Well, that probably gives you a glimpse of how crazy and 'dreamer' I am! I'll keep posting about everything. I also have a big task this week to complete besides moving in, my sister's engagement party. I've been planning it for months, from centerpieces, to decor, to lighting, to caterers, I am about to die running last minute details. Keep you guys posted on that one!

Moving into residence, courses, and my so called "dreams"!

Posting for the first time-endless amount of words!
Well, this would be my first post on my blog! I have tons of things to talk about, but lets just start with the basics! I've decided that starting a blog would be the best thing considering so many things are gonna happen now that I'm going to university. :)
First off, my name is Diana. I am 17 years old, my birthday is December 3rd, I'm a Sagittarius, and my favourite color is purple! moving on....
So, I'm going to UBC, University of British Columbia, in the beautiful city of Vancouver, which I call home. I was born in Bucharest, Romania but have lived in Vancouver since I was three years old. I graduated this year from a private school in West Vancouver, and I have to admit, I am probably going to face a reality check next year.
Going to UBC, I'll be in the Arts faculty this year. Taking tons of random courses (I don't know what was going on through my head when I signed up for Anthropology 100A or Philosophy 102) but mostly requisite courses to transfer into Sauder School of Business next year (like Economics 101 and 102, and Math 184....YIKES!)
So I have lots going on! I'm hoping to be able to use this blog to get questions out, talk about things, and just really discuss with the world (and I hope that the world is reading this...) what's going on in my life!
Besides blabbing on and on about my university experiences, I will also am going to write about things going on around me to me, and welcome questions from readers. One of my strongest passions is psychology, so I hope I can help people out there who need some advice! When I give advice, I say this: you may do with it as you wish. Take it, forget it, apply it, or keep it in the back of your mind.
I will try to keep up 2-3 times a week if time permits, and will even have fun contests, polls, and just anything. :)
I hope you enjoy!
